Photinia


Photinia #1 or Nephrons #5 (2009) 16" x 16" Oil on canvas.

Update: The "Photinia" is a different plant from the one behind this painting. The photos are of Cocoplum "red tip" not Photinia. Photinia's leaves are thin, papery, serrated, long and slender, pointy tipped. Cocoplum's are leathery, almost like a succulent, waxy, oval to round, not serrated. That the Coccoplum still resembles the nephrons for me hasn't changed though.
